Brian was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the surrounding suburb of Greenfield, Wisconsin. Beginning in 2000, he attended the University of Wisconsin where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting (2004). While a student, he was a member and treasurer of the Wisconsin Alumni Student Board (WASB) which worked closely with the Wisconsin Alumni Association to promote community outreach through philanthropic events and service projects connecting Badgers of the past, present and future. Brian continued his education and attended Marquette University where he earned his law degree (J.D. 2007) and Master of Business Administration (2008).
Currently, Brian focuses his legal practice in representing the interests of lending institutions in consumer and commercial foreclosure actions, consumer and commercial replevin actions, together with other various secured transactions to recover and preserve the assets and collateral of a lender's security interest. In addition, Brian represents small businesses and individuals in their collection efforts against customers who fail or refuse to perform on a contract or in general corporate/limited liability company organization and registration. He has extensive experience in post-judgment collection activities including supplemental examinations, contempt hearings, earnings garnishments, non-earnings garnishments and execution of writs of replevin and assistance. When an individual or corporation files for bankruptcy protection, Brian diligently protects creditors' rights ensuring compliance by debtors with the rules and requirements of the bankruptcy code and, if appropriate, has experience preparing and filing motions to obtain relief from the automatic stay, co-debtor stay and abandonment, objections to confirmation of a Chapter 13 Plan, and adversary complaints objecting to discharge ability or exemptions claimed by debtors.
In addition, Brian has experience in general estate planning, drafting wills, revocable trust documents, health care powers of attorney and durable powers of attorney. He also assists personal representatives in the administration of estate proceedings and helps effectuate the transfer and distribution of a decedent's assets and belongings after death. Lastly, throughout his career, Brian has represented real estate buyers and sellers (in both residential and commercial transactions) from the inception of drafting an offer to purchase through closing of the transaction.
